Using a computer workstation incorrectly can cause ill-health such as musculoskeletal disorders, stress and visual fatigue. The ErgoWize ergonomic course will help users work comfortably and safely at their workstation. Under The Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations 1992 Display screen equipment users need to assess their working environment and be provided with training on how to reduce the level of risk.
Prolonged sitting can cause a range of health issues from feeling fatigued at the end of the day to more serious conditions in the long-term. This course instructs users in the correct setup and safe use of their computer workstation, desk and chair. There is information on how to reduce stress and visual fatigue and other common problems that can occur when sharing a working environment. By completing this course, users will benefit from an increased awareness of ergonomic related hazards and instruction on how to avoid them.
There are detailed images and interactions showing the correct sitting position, keying position and hand placement when using the mouse. There are additional videos showing exercises and stretching techniques used to help reduce the amount of stress placed on joints and muscles when sitting for long periods of time.
Main Sections within the course:
An organisation must ensure that workers are protected from possible hazards which includes ensuring that their workstations are ergonomic and comfortable to use.
Users will benefit from an increased awareness of Workstation Ergonomics related hazards and will be provided with instruction on how to avoid such hazards.
This course has been approved by RoSPA
Once the course is completed users will be required to take a final test consisting of 10 randomly generated questions. The final test has a minimum pass rate requirement of 70%.
Organisations can make numerous edits to the course modules and the test questions, additionally tests pass rate can be changed to maintain the required standard of knowledge within the organisation.
On successfully completion of the test users can download and print off a company branded certificate.
