ErgoWize DSE Risk Assessment Print E-mail

Once users have completed the ErgoWize DSE Training course and passed the exit test, they are granted access to the self risk assessment. The solution is designed in this way to ensure that they are competent and possess the appropriate degree of knowledge to enable them to complete their DSE risk assessment accurately.

Risk weightings

The ErgoWize DSE Risk Assessment consists of a multiple choice questionnaire based on the HSE guidelines. Depending upon which response is selected, each question will be graded low, medium or high risk. The user is given the option to elaborate and expand upon each answer should they need to articulate problems, symptoms, etc in more detail. The end result of the process is an assessment graded for severity of risk, highlighting the total number of DSE related concerns outstanding. The risk weightings can be altered by adminstrators as and when they need to.

User qualification of risk

The ErgoWize Risk Assessment can be configured so that, where appropriate, potential resolutions to user concerns "pop up" during the questionnaire, allowing a degree of risk to be managed and eliminated at source.

More importantly, this functionality also allows users to confirm if the risk they are highlighting is genuine and to correct any mistaken responses. This encourages a far more responsible approach to this process from the user as they are reminded of the potential resource implications their responses may have, rather than simply clicking through the questionnaire without due care and thought. The ErgoWize risk assessment with this functionality enabled, will produce far fewer DSE related concerns than similar products.

Customisation

At EssentialSkillz we recognise that environments, methodologies and process vary from organisation to organisation. We have designed the ErgoWize Risk Assessment so that customers can adapt and amend the questionnaire at any time, even post roll out, to reflect the unique nature of their own operation. The risk assessment is dynamic, in the sense that users can skip irrelevant question sets within the questionnaire. For example, users without laptops do not have to complete the section that relates to the use of portable devices.
